EXCITING NEWS! CHECK OUT THE NEW ANIMATION SECTION.This post will be more down to business. Ok so like I said in the fist conventional blog ,unlike this the radical unconventional second blog as is customary to announce when posting two blogs to avoid confusion, that there are not one but in fact two blogs running concurrently now. Now with that being said I will proceed to expound upon the current state of things in an around the tiny microcosmic sphere of influence I like to call my imagination.
First I apologize for small text and any misspellings. Some of my images are from recovered disk and the text layers are now merged with the main layers so editing is time consuming. I'm also not satisfied with the rushed pages that didn't get enough attention. Theses are always the ones with the most mistakes as far as spelling is concerned.
The new CG splash pages between the old 2D style are something I added in the last two years. I wasn't really sure where I was goin with CG stuff when I started it and it has been a long road and I am not a tech savvy person. I mean I am on Weebly for elvis sake. But after watching a million tutorials on blender I finally made a poor mans demo reel.
I know I rant on about my one comic but more are forthcoming I just have to get through the first one.It runs for 7 chapters and is currently on 2. They story is done but I have so much to draw it's ridiculous. It should all go much more smoothly now that I have found a place where I can easily update pages and make new issues. It took 7 years but it's finally on again. I hope to keep it up as long as I can afford too. PS if you think my comics suck and my artwork stinks please mail comments too firstname.lastname@example.org
PS I'm officially copyrighting Unicorn Sea Otter so don't even think about stealin this one it's a blog copyright and yes I have a witness.
I really don't get this Blogger thing.I don't get why I have to add text to my blog before I post. Shouldn't computers be smarter by now how long before they can read my every thought. I keep hearing about drones in the news and lasers being used on planes. I think terrorist would be probing our defenses this way before a major attack. I saw a drone flying at the tire shop the other day and it was very fast and hovered perfect and gyroscopic stable as a flag pole in a hurricane. That was until the pilot got frisky and crashed into a power line which gave me a the idea to use clear fishing line to catch drones in a net like biologist catch bats.
SO what have I been up to other than watching drones crash. I have been working night and day on updating the galleries to slideshows and it look way better on here and mobile. The text is still too small for old people like me. Oh yeah I turn forty next month! I am so happy! I never though I'd make it this far. It's like a huge relief all of this pressure is off me. I don't ever have to do any of the following ever again. Military service. If your draftin me you already lost dude.Going back to school of any kind and worrying about if I will make friends or be popular.Being afraid of what anyone thinks except for the police they are shooting everyone these days.Trying to look cool doing anything especially sports. I go out of my way to look silly when I throw as much as a Frisbee these days. Gee thanks google who knew Frisbee had to be capitalized.
So my robot overlords aren't in charge yet but I can't wait maybe they will sponge bathe me and feed me baby food through a tube like in the matrix or robocop. Anyway if you like futures where millions of drones controlled by a singular consciousness try and eradicate life as we know it keep reading my comic some more.
Well that was a little all over the map but I need to write stuff cause...Reasons!
Can you post two blogs a day? would anyone read them? this and more questions that will not be answered or commented on ever..see I'm challenging you.TO comment!
Ok I'm postin two blogs today convention be damned!
My first page of the year and my first blogging ever! I am not afraid of anything except for yellow mustard and centipedes.Blogging makes me nervous but I am undaunted and resolved to conquer my blogging fears. So here goes my first attempt at blogging!
I've been told by more than one person my comic LEPUS is hard to follow and I am going to add the blog to sort of aid new readers through the mess I've created. I experimented with the font a lot early on and it makes the introduction confusing, to say the least. I also have improved on my style and formatting over the years. I don't have any formal training in the comic arts or any art for that matter. I did well in art history in college and that was about it. I am mostly self taught and it shows. Anyway enough excuses for my ineptitude. Like I always say if at first you don't succeed...fail..fail again. I hope one day my perseverance will pay off but for now. ON with the show!
There's never enough dialogue in my pages to satiate me because storytelling is very visual to me. I would like to have a writer on board one day but until then this blog will have to do.
The story is no where near complete and its going on 7 years now. I often feel like it will never end. The real plot of the story is just beginning to unfold and is currently on what you could call the second chapter even though its continuous in its exegesis. The main character is currently homeless and suffers from random memory loss but is looked after by a sort of holographic guardian angle from another dimension if you will. I'm not sure anyone's actually ever read this thing all the way through so until you do it would be hard to explain it all here but I will try to sum it up for you.
The world that these characters inhabit is not our Earth but similar in many ways. They are slightly more advanced than we are and have already invented artificial intelligence. The artificial lifeforms became enslaved by the government agencies called the technocracy or ministry of technology. So these artificial lifeforms created a kind of underground railroad to escape the oppression they suffered at the hands of their human masters and now live in distant parts of the galaxy existing as pure energy on magnetic fields of immense proportion like the one emitted by our sun, quasars and other phenomenon like black holes. Although the black hole thing is tricky. It has something to do with the story later on. So the ones that escaped come back to help the ones who are still trapped by the Technocracy and forced to do their dirty work. Elise (The blue girl) came back to help Lepus who is part AI(artificial intelligence) and part real living tissue (Cyborg) or cybernetic organism. As to whether or not he was actually ever a person remains to be found out. He was originally a military experiment but after he was decommissioned he was given to a group of scientist who reprogrammed him and began sending him on deep space survey missions, the results of which were kept secret from the military and government. This went on for a few years until one day something dreadful happened. Lepus and his nation were destroyed in a nuclear holocaust. His best friend also perished in the attack. This is all in chapter one.
